If you are considering getting lip tattoo permanent make up (PMU) to add a natural tint or balance two-toned cool lips, then it’s essential to contribute to achieving the best possible healed results. The success of lip blush neutralisation depends on the artist's technique, your body reaction to pigment, individual pre and post care.
If you’re a coffee connoisseur, I know it is so HARD to not have your daily coffee and that decaf is not it (sorry not sorry to decaf consumers) but it is so important to avoid caffeine (including tea, bubble tea and energy drinks) before your procedure.
💋 Caffeine/alcohol and medication like ibuprofen/fish oils act as a blood thinner. This may cause you to bleed more during the procedure and may result in your body rejecting the pigment, affecting your overall healed results.
💋 Drinking plenty of water and keeping your lips moisturised with lip balm will ensure the artist is given a smooth canvas to work on. It is difficult to implant pigment if the lips are dried and flakey!
💋 Exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate! Exfoliate your lips the week leading up to your appointment to rid of any dead skin.
💋 If you’ve ever had a coldsore at any time in your life, you will need to be on antivirals before and after your procedure.
💋 So many clients overlook this but please do not schedule your appointment around your menstrual cycle. You will be more sensitive and uncomfortable and will be prone to more bleeding during this time. This may result in colour loss.
Considering a lip tattoo or permanent makeup (PMU) to enhance your lips can be a transformative experience, but achieving optimal results requires careful preparation and aftercare.
