PRE-CARE 

  • Drink lots of water and hydrate your lips with balm. Exfoliate 2-3 times week of procedure

  • Reschedule appointment if you are on/expecting your menstrual cycle (You will be more sensitive)

  • Take antivirals 3 days before and 3 days after appointment if you are prone to cold sores/herpes

  • Avoid caffeine (including coffee, soda, tea, bubble tea) for 48 hours

  • Avoid all blood thinners, aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil for 48 hours

  • Avoid alcohol and smoking for 48 hours

  • Do not exercise day of procedure

  • Do not attend with sunburn, cold sores or chapped lips

  • Avoid all chemical peels, botox, laser treatments and lip fillers for 4 weeks

  • Please note; you may be turned away if your lip condition is deemed unsuitable for the procedure
    (e.g too dry, active cold sores)

POST-CARE 

  • Keep lips dry of any fluid that may occur after treatment by blotting with clean cotton round

  • Clean lips by lightly damping cotton round with micellar water or warm water

  • Apply pea size amount of A&D ointment (given) when dry during the healing process

  • Don't bite, touch, scratch or cause friction to lips as irritation could occur

  • No lipstick or makeup on lips until lips have naturally peeled

  • No extreme sweating until lips peel

  • No kissing until lips peel

  • Avoid spicy/acidic food until lips peel

  • Drink all fluids with straw. No heat on lips (e.g hot coffee/tea)

  • Avoid direct sunlight, hot showers and saunas

  • No botox, facials, laser treatments, lip fillers for at least 4-6 weeks.

  • Constant SPF use (once lips peel) will prolong the longevity of the colour

HEALING - 

  • Swelling is normal and will subside within 24-48 hours

  • Lips will go through a cycle of darkening and ghosting, colour will resurface at week 4-6 (10-14 for neutralisation)
